Fashion Picks of the Month
My curated selection of Latin brand launches and inspirational finds.
Are you ready? This issue is a long compilation of Latin fashion inspiration, featuring recent launches from Latin American brands and curated pieces inspired by the sea and summer. (You might need to read it in the Substack app for the full version.)
Since I’ve been sharing some of my favorite pieces from Latin fashion brands in my Notes, I thought I might as well put them all in one place!
Let’s begin:
Toronero
Mexico
This is one of my top emerging Mexican fashion brands. Although they have been around for several years creating accessories, it wasn't until last year that they launched their first clothing collection during Fashion Week Mexico.
This would be their third collection presentation at SAPICA, the largest footwear and leather goods exhibition in Latin America, which took place this past August.
Toronero also collaborated with the Mexican brand BALA DI GALA for the creation of footwear.
Steph Orozco
Mexico
The Mexican designer based in Stockholm, who produces everything in Mexico, has launched a new drop of her unique pieces.
Pau Román
México (Yucatán, Mérida)
This swimwear designer has launched the second drop of La Costa, a collection created in small batches with a focus on conscious production, inspired by the sea. The piece I particularly adore is the Almeja bikini, handcrafted in collaboration with Mexican textile artist Arianca.
Cruda
Mexico City / Costa Rica
I’ve talked about this brand before, but I still want to share their recent launch of the 'Swan' flats and the stunning red boots they custom-made for @girlultra.
Lobo con Piel de Oveja (A Wolf in Sheep Skin)
Mexico
A workshop based in Mexico City since 2013, they produce small batches and made-to-measure pieces.
Sixxta
Colombia
One of my top Colombian brands has decided to launch shoes as an addition to their staple pieces. I'm truly in love with their Wiggly flats (based on their signature wave design of course) and the Mesh flats in ivory.
Last summer vibes:
Cala de la Cruz
One of my all-time favorite Colombian brands has continued to release new pieces to add to their collection. The prints on linen fabrics are the ones that have caught my eye.
