A Q&A with myself...
Finally, an introduction.
So, I’ve realized I’ve never actually quite introduced myself around here.
And since lately I’ve been reconnecting with my roots in fashion journalism and my love for fashion media, I feel like I must share a bit of my background and my journey with Latin American fashion.
Also, I’m answering some questions I’ve never been asked before in any interview I’ve ever done!
Is Talía Cu your real name?
Talía Cu is actually an artistic name I chose. It’s a bit of a weird story, but when I was in high school and Facebook was just emerging, my brother suggested we not show our last names on Facebook, just for security reasons.
So he changed his last name to Cu (a contraction of our two last names: Castellanos Usigli), and I did too.
Somehow, mine really stuck. At university, people called me that, even Uber drivers! Miss Cu. And I kind of liked it. Finally, when I decided to become a fashion illustrator, I adopte…
