One of Guatemala's most impactful fashion collections

There’s one particular Fashion Week that is driving forward collaborations with artisans from its local region: Guatemala Fashion Week (GTFW).
“Artisanal work and fashion can create excellent trade opportunities for the country, both locally and internationally,” states Nando Yax, Public Relations Director of Guatemala Fashion Week, in the video documenting their latest initiative.
In some countries in Latin America, producing collaborations with artisans to promote the local economy can be crucial—but it must be done the right way. Guatemala Fashion Week has been part of the landscape for 10 years and is famously known in Latin America for its focus on artisanal work within the country.
That’s why this year, they have created a new initiative called ‘Made in Guate,’ which promises to bring together designers from all over Central America, connecting them and ensuring that they can learn how to ethically work with artisans in the region and understand the processes behind.
