As established previously in my post Why New York City is the hub for Latin fashion, there’s a strong and evident connection between this city and Latin American creators.
In the current political landscape, if you’re looking to support Latin American designers, I am sharing places where you can do it if you live in NYC.
Some of these shops hold pop-ups, while others have more permanent stock of the designers, so it’s always worth checking out their social media to see what upcoming events they are hosting.
Tumbao
I don’t think I can emphasize it enough, but this is THE place to shop for Latin talent, founded in 2021 by Ecuadorian talent Valentina Pozo.
It’s even self-proclaimed as the largest curation of Latin American fashion in the world. Also, Tumbao is constantly organizing fun events in the city, so I recommend following them on Instagram.
Where? 20 Orchard st, New York, New York 10002
Lagoon New York
This independent art and fashion shop recently visited Guadalajara and Mexico City to showcase their pieces. Although I currently don’t know for sure if they have in-store Mexican designers, I have seen a few names on their site that suggest they have sold them in the past. They also recently held an event with the shoe brand VACR.
So, it might be worth it to go, look around, and ask.
Where? 293 Nostrand Brooklyn
This is Latin America
This shop is very focused on artisanal work from Latin America, and they just announced the addition of the Colombian brand INFINITA, which I adore because they have beautiful prints in their collections.
Where? 234 Grand Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Santos by Mónica
This stunning womenswear and accessories brand is owned by Puerto Rican designer Mónica Santos Gil and has its own place in the city.
Where? 22 Ludlow St, New York, New York
ending soon
I am currently trying to confirm whether they sell Mexican or Latin American brands as permanent stock, because at the end of last year they hosted a pop-up with the brand Banzo. I will keep this list updated once I hear back.
Where? 254 Broome St, Manhattan
Café Forgot
This shop seems to often be activating very interesting designers and collaborations. Plus, you can find pieces here from Mexican designers like blobb, Scent, and Cueva, which are also available online through their shop.
Where? 29 Ludlow St NYC
Assembly New York
Although you will find many luxury womenswear and menswear brands here, I’ve found that Campillo, Paola Vilas, and Varon (the last two are jewelry) are among the Latin American brands sold here too.
Where? 170 Ludlow St, New York, New York
Special events in June:
Today and tomorrow (14 and 15 of June) you will find be able to find Mariana by Alba at tra Di noi.
Extra: Stitch Lab Miami
Specialized in retail and wholesale purchases of Latin American designers.
Not in NYC, but Stitch Lab does events all around the US, and they frequently host pop-ups in Miami.
If there’s any other place you know of, please leave it in the comments so people can see it!
P.S. If you're planning a future trip to Mexico City, the Mexico City Fashion Guide is still available — the pre-sale is closing tomorrow if you'd like to grab your copy.

This is just a reminder that I don’t receive any kind of commission for the linked pieces! That’s why your support is really important to me. If this newsletter is helping you deepen your knowledge of the Latin American fashion scene, please consider supporting my work—from a monthly subscription of $5 USD to an annual offer!
